OVERVIEW

Mission Statement

To provide an up to date perspective on quarrying with emphasis on opencast mines in the sand and aggregate sector and the mining industry as a whole.

The launching of Quarry Southern Africa (formerly Pit & Quarry) in March 1997, to serve the extensive surface mining, quarrying, local government and construction industries, has proven to be the right step at the right time. In the space of six years, the magazine has grown from strength to strength, with increasing support from all sectors of industry.

The journal has been received with enthusiasm by the myriad opencast pits and quarries from which a host of economically essential minerals, sands, stones and aggregates emanate, representing millions of rands each year.

This award-winning journal aims to provide its readers with useful information through commitment, integrity and investigative journalism.

Quarry Southern Africa's editorial policy is to give maximum coverage to news which will assist in promoting this important industry. It is not the intention to devote specific issues to features per sé, but rather to ensure that industry news will always receive priority.

Readership and circulation data is monitored on a daily basis to ensure accuracy and correct targeting. Quarry Southern Africa is mailed independently and addressed personally by name, company and title to a carefully-researched audience.

Published six times a year, Quarry Southern Africa provides news and information accurately and on time to an identified and qualified readership. Quarry Southern Africa won a SAPPI Pica award in 2003 after being voted the best 'civil construction, building and infrastractural development' magazine in South Africa.
